The Ballet Studio: About the Studio

our mission

The Ballet Studio is a non-profit organization, established in San Francisco in 2003 by master teacher Henry Berg. Under the direction of Mr. Berg and its distinguished Board of Directors and faculty, the studio offers a complete curriculum of quality dance instruction for children and adults.

The studio provides a much-needed alternative to larger, more competitive ballet schools. Students of all skill levels are welcomed into its rigorous yet friendly and supportive dance community.

Mr. Berg’s curriculum infuses the science of good alignment with the creative artistry of performance. His highly qualified and dedicated faculty all have professional dance experience. Together, they offer an ideal combination of youth and experience, and are all highly skilled in helping each student develop according to their unique interests and abilities.

The studio also specializes in working with dance-related injuries. Pilates and physical therapy techniques are given special emphasis, in addition to Mr. Berg’s well-known alignment floor work exercise program.

The Ballet Studio’s light-filled SOMA loft is a warm, welcoming space where small class sizes allow for specialized individual attention.

Whether a student is working toward a professional career or simply wants to experience the joys of dance, the Ballet Studio offers every student the opportunity to receive direct, individual instruction from some of the Bay Area’s finest instructors.
